How it started to where we are now... Part 1

I have wanted to blog about "us" for a long time but have never got around to it. Now that I have started a new blog (& have made a commitment to myself to stick with it), I want to let you all know how I got where I am in my life.

It all started on Sept. 2nd 1980 something... Just kidding not getting that detailed.

The husband and I met during high school and dated for most of our senior year. We then attended Texas A&M (WHOOP!!) together. He graduated on time and I took a victory lap (well worth it) and then we ended up in the big D. We knew from early on in our relationship that we were meant to be together forever. He got a job and then I did and we now call this great city home. Our family still lives in Houston so we frequently make trips there to visit. After discussing timing for awhile, we got engaged last August. We are a very laid back, simply couple and so was our engagement. It happened on a Thursday night and I was very surprised! I knew it was coming and thought I would know when it would happen but I never would have thought on a Thursday night, in my pajamas, with grilled cheese on the stove! Little did I know that my pedicure that I went and got after school that day would change the plans for that night. After I cried and we called our families, we went to dinner at one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Here are a few pictures from that...

1st addition of WILW

Happy Wednesday to my four blog following friends :-)!!

I am trying to commit to at least 4 post a week. So far I am on track with 2 by Wednesday!! Yay!! I am on my work computer and therefore do not have any pictures from the wedding or events leading up. This may be a double post day because I want to get those started. Look for a post tonight or tomorrow!!

Today I am linking up with Jamie from This Kind of Love. Jamie does a fun post every Wednesday about things she is loving. I have a lot to love lately and am very thankful for that!

So, here it goes....

I am loving... being married. Although it is very new, it has been amazing! I never new I could love someone like I love him!

I am loving... that there are only 12 days (10 for me) of summer school left. I am not sure what made me decide to teach this summer but I am ready for a break!

I am loving... that I started my last grad school class last night. I can finally see the light at the end of a very loooong tunnel.

I am loving... that we are going to float the river this weekend. Rumor has it that there is no water in the river but we will have a blast either way.

I am loving... my sweet husband!!

Wedding pictures and details coming soon. We are back from the honeymoon and setteling into our new lives. I feel so blessed by the friends and family that came to support us.

As always, I am looking for new blogs to follow. I came across Jenn's blog over @ Perfectly Imperfect and she was doing this fun finish the sentence thing so I decided to do it as well.

I am... Allison, I newlywed loving the married life since 6/4/11

I want... summer school to be over so that I can begin to enjoy my summer...(why did I choose to teach it?!?)

I have... an amazing family that lives to far away for my liking

I wish... I could be at home cleaning (weird, I know, but it is in desperate need)

I hate... inconsiderate people

I fear... losing someone very close to me

I hear... the students in the class next to me screaming

I search... for new blogs to follow all of the time. I am trying to build up my followers (but probably need to build up my post first...)

I wonder... if I made the right choice to get my Master's in Administration

I regret... quiting dance many, many years ago

I love... my family! (& my 3 new pair of shoes I got yesterday!!)

I never... thought I would move away from my family or to Dallas and enjoy most of it as much as I do

I ache... because I slept wrong on my neck

I always... trust in God.  He has a plan and I try to take it one day at a time. ( I like the answer that was there)

I usually... check my bank account 5 times a day...

I am not... a good house keeper. I am trying to get into a routine of the new married life

I dance... when I am happy!

I sing... really loud in the car because nobody can hear me and I think I sound amazing

I sometimes... wonder if teaching was the right profession for me

I cry... when I am stressed, sad, or angry

I am not always... positive, I do try to find the best in everything I do

I lose... important papers...

I am confused... about where we will live in the next year

I need... going to sleep so late

I should... get off of blogger and teach my students!
