Guest post: Sarah!!

Hi Everyone, it's Sarah here from Shorelines and Sunshine. I'm thrilled to be guest posting on Allison's blog because I love reading her posts and I think she's wonderful.

As the winter months wind down, and the temperature creeps up, I thought I'd share with you all some of my favorite things about winter that I'll miss. I know, you all probably think I'm crazy for missing winter, but really, this year we didn't having much of one, and I didn't spend nearly enough time in sweaters or drinking tea. Here we go!

1. Cozy sweaters. Being warm in the winter months is really important to me because I'm one of those people who are always cold. A good chunky cable knit is one of my favorite things, and I love the look of wool sweaters with jewelry.

2. Hot coffee. It seems like one of the simplest things, but hot coffee isn't really all that great in the middle of summer. That's generally when I crazy iced coffee, but that's a whole other story. Hot coffee really warms me up from head to toe, and I can't think of a happier and friendlier place to meet than a coffee house - not Starbucks.

3. Cotton socks. They're under appreciated. My favorite have to be the camp socks from J.Crew, and yes, they're mens. I know when I get back from a long and stressful day, putting on my camp socks make everything better. I know I'm not going out for the night, and I plan on staying in and relaxing. You can really only have good associations with these socks.

4. Dark nail polish. I'm going to miss this trend come summer time, I can already feel it. Just this past winter alone, I stocked up on my dark colors and I loved them, maybe even a little too much. I think wintertime is the perfect time to try new nail colors, especially since the weather is so gross, you need something to cheer you up.

5. Circle scarves. These were another trend of the season that I didn't miss out on. I love this one from AVintageObsession from Etsy. The color would go with nearly any coat, and they're so easy and versatile to wear. If you haven't already picked one out this winter, do so at the sales coming up.

I hope you all enjoyed my post about what I'm going to miss come springtime. What are you going to miss the most about winter, or nothing at all?

House is coming along!!

I meant to do a post about our house last week but ended up not blogging at all. This post will be a picture overload!! If we are friends on facebook, you may have seen all of these already.

These first few pictures were taken last Sunday. We were excited to see the foundation poured!
Lots of steps leading to our front door.
 View from the garage.
From the front door.

If you live in Dallas (or really most parts of Texas) you know that it rained almost all last week! I know we need the rain but I really wanted it to stop because I thought it was delaying our construction. I am still hoping for the rain to hold off another month or so. In a month, they should have everything on the outside done and rain won't matter! Anyway, Chris and I went out yesterday and were surprised to see this...
Our entire frame was up! Above is from the front.
Stairs leading to the game room.
 The huge game room upstairs!
 Our bedroom with huge windows!
Back of the house.

We are so excited!! It is suppose to rain again this week but I am hoping they are able to get something done.

Make sure you come back later in the week, I have some AMAZING guest bloggers! Have a great Monday!

Bad Blogger & Guest Bloggers Needed!

Who hasn't posted in a week... ME! Sorry guys! I don't know what is going on. I sit down to right a blog and then start reading yours. I just don't feel like I have anything blog worthy right now. I do have a few posts coming up this week though so stay tuned!

We have been eating HORRIBLE lately! I didn't meal plan last week and it drove me crazy. I had a lot going on last week so meals were easy. I think we had meatballs, stir fry, and a new taco bake recipe. The taco bake was awesome!! I don't have any pictures but here is the recipe:

Ingredients:
-1 lb. ground beef/turkey
- 2 small (8 oz. I think) cans of tomato sauce
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1 bag of no yolk noodles
-2 TBSP. of garlic powder
- Shredded Cheese

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Cook meat
3. Drain meat & add cans of tomato sauce & garlic powder
4. Boil noodles & drain
5. In a bowl, mix noodles, sour cream, & cream cheese
6. In a 9X13 pan, layer meat then noodle mix twice and top with cheese
7. Bake on 350 uncovered for 30 minutes

Yum!! We had green beans, toast, and caesar salad with it.

I also am not meal planning for this week. It is my Spring Break (thank goodness) and we are going out of town Wednesday through Saturday. This is the 4th or 5th year that we will have gone snow skiing during Spring Break. It is a fun trip that I look forward to every year!

I would love to have 3-4 guest bloggers for the end of this week! I know this is last minuted but if you are interested, please leave a comment below!!

Hope everyone has had a great weekend! & I promise to do better with blogging!!

I am OBSESSED!!!

I announced a few weeks ago that I am now a Scentsy consultant. I have loved Scentsy long before I started selling it! I love showing the products to people and could smell the different scents all day. I am not ashamed to admit that I am obsessed with scentsy!

Each month Scentsy has a warmer of the month. The warmer of the month was picked out of all the others to be 10% off for that month only. Scentsy decided to mix things up a bit this month and instead of a warmer of the month, they choose a buddy of the month...

Meet the adorable (10% off) new buddy, Wellington the duck...
Isn't he precious? I love him and he would make the perfect addition to a little (or big) one's Easter basket. Along with the warmer/buddy of the month, Scentsy also has a Scent of the month. This month it is Sunlit Morning...
March 1st also marked the first day to order from the new Spring/Summer catalog. There are new warmers, scents and baby buddies! They also brought back some of the older scents that had gone away for the Fall/Winter season. My favorite new warmer is called Bride and would be the perfect shower or wedding gift for a bride.
It will soon be on it's way to me and perfectly placed in our bedroom! My favorite baby buddy is definitely Baby Roarbert. He is absolutely precious!
Scentsy has also come out with a brand new line called Layers. This line includes body wash, lotion, perfume, and laundry care.
Needless to say, I am so excited about everything Scentsy and all it has to offer! If you would like a catalog, are interested in my specials, or would like to order, please leave a comment with your email or visit my website by clicking the link below.

Happy Friday!!

House Update

I am so excited to post the progress of our house!! I gave a little peak in yesterday's post but here are all of the pictures up to this point. If you are new to my blog, my husband and I are building our first home in the Dallas area! We are so excited and thankful for the wonderful opportunity. Now on to the pictures!!

Here is our lot, from the front, on the day we signed our contract. If anyone knows what that white pole is, I would love to know!!
Here is our lot, from the back, on the day we signed our contract.
 Starting to prep the lot.
These were taken last Thurs. (Feb. 23rd). From the front, preparing for the plumbing.
 Same day, from the back.

We are so in love with our pile of dirt! We plan to go out every Sunday and check on the progress. I may go out during the week if I get out early enough.

On another note, I am closing my Feb. online Scentsy party on Feb. 29th at 5pm. February is a great month to stock up on your favorite products because everything is 10% off. The new catalog comes out tomorrow!! In addition to the Scentsy specials, I am running my own! Contact me for more info and click below to go straight to my website!

Have a great Tuesday!!

Weekend Recap & Special Friend

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Friday was a very low key night. Chris worked late and I relaxed at home. We had Chick FilA for dinner around 9:30 and then went to bed! I feel so lame most Friday nights but my kiddos suck the energy out of me during the week!

Saturday, I woke up and got ready to go with a friend to look at the house her and her husband are building. Side note, Andrea and I are similar in so many ways. We have been friends for a little over 4 years but look what all we have been through together...

Me turning 21
 Andrea turning 21
