Home Sweet Home

Home from another weekend trip to College Station! I wish I could say it was a good one, but it wasn't. Our poor Aggies... when are they going to get it together. We had tickets to the game but only stayed through the first quarter. I don't mean to be negative but uh next year might be rough to watch...
I'm on my own again this week but have a lot going on so hopefully it will go by quick! I do plan to make time to catch up on my sleep. Chris flew home Friday night so we didn't get to CS until 4 in the morning. We were back up and at the tailgate at 9 later that morning. Needless to say, extra sleep is needed!!

Monday, I need to finish a couple shirt orders and get them sent off Tuesday. I also want to make a few more coaster sets for the holidays. Does anyone know where I can buy collegiate scrapbook paper?

Tuesday night, I have a parent engagement night at school. I am on the yearbook team this year so I have to go and take pictures. I will post pictures of our yearbook when we have more complete. I am excited about the outcome!

Wednesday & Thursday are going to be my nights to relax and do nothing!

A friend of mine has finally set a date for their wedding. She has asked me to be her Matron of Honor but it will be official Friday night. She has arranged for all of her girls to have a girls night at you paint it. Has anyone ever been? I can't wait!
Meals this week are simple and not worth posting but I will be back to planning next Sunday!

Did everyone have a good weekend?

BRRR!!

Geez, it is cold! I got up this morning to take Ace out and forgot to put a jacket on. That was a quick way to wake myself up for the day. I love love this cold weather but I don't want it to get any colder, yet. This weather is perfect!

I had a few comments on the amazing purse that I posted yesterday. I have become a huge fan of people.com and I have seen multiple photos like this...
After falling in love with the bag, I did a little bit of research and found this website. It is known as the "Pippa bag" in London. It is a Modalu bag and it is beautiful. It comes in a few different colors but they are out of stock. I will own this bag one day!

Guess what else... I got my first blog award!! I was so excited when I saw this!! Sweet Kristen from Joyful Ramblings gave me the Liebster Blog Award. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Kristen!!

I am so glad tomorrow is Friday. My hubby comes home for the weekend and we have plans to go to the A&M football game in College Station. During football season, these are our plans every time there is a home game. I am just so glad, happy, excited to see him. Tomorrow is also a good day because we get to wear jeans. It is something about jeans and teaching but it makes for the best day!

I might not be back till Sunday so I hope everyone has a great weekend! Do you have any exciting plans?

WILW

Hello to all of my new followers! I am so glad you are here and I can't wait to read your blogs! Today has been a tough day and I am so thankful that Chris and I are coming to peace with a tough decision we had to make. As many of you know, we recently signed a contract on a house and we have decided to back out of it for a few reasons. I may go into detail at some point but for now I just want to let it settle in. That intro kinda leads me to my favorite link up of the week! I have so many things that I am loving this week and it is so important to focus on those when going through a hard time!! So, here we go with What I'm Loving Wednesday. Link up with Jamie here!
I'm loving my friends and amazing family. I have some of the most supportive, amazing friends that anyone could have. This is a picture of my wonderful bridesmaids!
I'm loving this new scentsy warmer. I think it would go great in our home during the holidays!
I'm loving this purse and will probably buy it as a pick me up for myself after this stressful day/week! Not sure of the color though.
I'm loving this new shirt I made and that it is now for sale in my etsy store. You can check it out here.
I'm loving the giveaway that Jamie is doing! It is for one set of coasters or one custom shirt from my etsy store! The giveaway runs through Sunday. Go check it out if you are interested!

I'm loving my sweet, supportive, husband. He truly is my rock and I don't know what I would do without him. This constant traveling he is doing is really hard but it makes those times he is home that much more special. I am so lucky to call him mine forever! (ok, enough mushiness!)

What are you loving today?

Weekly Menu

I really have no meal plan for this week (or the next). It is really hard to cook for one person. Chris is out of town for 2 weeks so it's just me and the dog! When he goes out of town, I eat a lot of things that he really doesn't care about. The people behind me in the grocery store check out line probably thought I was gross. My cart was full of...

- Strawberries
- Green Peppers
- Green Onions
- Spiced Cake Mix
- Sour Cream
- Hamburger Buns
- Bread
- Halloween Socks (it is crazy sock day at school tomorrow)
- A few other random items

Tonight, I had baked beans, corn casserole, and sausage with bbq sauce. It was amazing! For desert, I had spiced cake with confetti icing.

Tomorrow is a friend of mine's birthday and I am going to an early dinner with her at Fogo De Chow. I also have a meeting after school tomorrow and they serve a light dinner, probably sandwiches, but I doubt I will be hungry.

The rest of the week I plan to have left overs from tonight, Manwhich's, chicken nuggets with tator tots. Definitely not counting my calories this week!

Sorry my menu is so boring. What is on your menu this week?

Relaxing weekend

Hello all! I definitely have been MIA but with reason. Here are the random happenings of last week...

-Work was insane (not complaining, just a fact)! We had parent conferences and those literally had me in bed at 8:30 3 nights in a row. There is more to that than just the parent conferences but they had a lot to do with it! Chris was gone from Wednesday to Friday afternoon for his work conference. I started to feel funny Wednesday afternoon. Needless to say, I am still feeling sick but hope it goes away before Monday.

- I started using a new scentsy scent and I am slightly obsessed.
- We setup our first meeting with the design center for Nov. 9th. I cannot wait to pick out our brick, floors, granite, etc. Here are some inspiration pictures I like...
Love the fireplace
Like the hardwood floors and fireplace
Like this bedroom

- I have created a facebook page for my etsy store. Once I have 50 likes, I will be running a 2 day special in my store. Any item 15% off!
*Click HERE to see my store*
*Click HERE to like my store on facebook*

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend! & that I feel better soon!!

Miscellany Monday

I am linking up with Carissa for Miscellay Monday's. Link up if you would like!

1. This was an awesome weekend for my favorite sports teams! I really do not care about the NFL but it would have been nice to see the Cowboys win. With that said, the Aggies and the Rangers both did amazing!!!! I am so proud of my Ag's, they have had a rougher start than expected. & the Rangers.... WOW!!! Back to the World Series!
2. It is payday week!! I am not excited to go out and buy anything new, I am excited to transfer money into my savings. Chris and I have finally setup our budget and are going to really stick to it this month. Since we are building our house, we have to buckle down and stop living so freely. Once we created our budget, we noticed that we spend a lot of money on pointless things.
3. This is a crazy week at both home and school so I did not create a meal plan for this week. I am already stressing about what will be for dinner tonight and tomorrow. I didn't go to the store yesterday so we have nothing to make at home. I guess we will figure it out!

4. The weather this week will actually feel like Fall. I can't wait. Here is our local forecast...
What's going on in your world today?

A day in the life of me....

This is my first time to link up with Mrs. T for blog outside the box. Today's topic is what a day in my life looks like. My days do not differ much from one another minus the computer lab time, library time, tutoring schedule, etc... But, I have very specific routines and my day is night right if I get out of them!

My day starts at 5:45 when my alarm goes off. I normally let it go off 3-4 times and am in the shower by 6:30. I am ready within 30 minutes of getting in the shower and then I am off to work. My getting ready routine is very detailed and the same everyday but I won't bore you with that info! I have to be at school by 7:35 but try and get there around 7:15. I normally arrive between 7:15-7:20. My day at school goes like this...

7:35-7:50- Students come in & put their backpacks away
7:50-8:05- Breakfast (in the classroom) & announcements
8:05-9:00ish- Math stations & small group
9:00-9:30- Whole group math lesson
9:30-10:30- Science
10:30-10:40- Bathroom break
10:40-11:10- Recess
11:10-11:40- Lunch (This is simple, either leftovers or sandwiches. I don't know why, but a sandwich is always so good at school but I try and eat them at home & it's just not the same)
11:40-12:05- Independent writing/phonics
12:10-1:05- Specials/Planning
1:05-1:40- Language arts
1:40-2:30- Guided reading
2:30-2:40- Pack up, sign folders
2:40-2:55- Dismissal
3:30- Free to leave (but that never happens!)
I normally leave between 4-5, depends on the day.

Chris gets home between 5-6. I start dinner around 6:30. We eat and then relax with each other!

Great day if I do say so myself! (sorry there are not any pictures, I hate post with no pictures)

What is a day in the life of you like?

Meal Plan & other randoms

This has been an awesome weekend! I am so thankful to have this extra day off to catch up on my growing to-do list.

My goals for today are:
- Get gas
- Grocery store
- Pick up gift card to Target & cake for teammates bday
- 4-5 loads of laundry (& put up)
- Empty and reload the dishwasher
- Start dinner
- Clean my bathroom
- Grade some of my DRA writing samples
- Watch Doctor Phil

Might be a lot but I am confident I will get most of it done.

This weekend, Chris and I signed the contract for our new house. It was very exciting and a tad nerve racking but we are so excited. We are suppose to have our first meeting with the design team in 2 weeks but Chris will be out of town. We most likely won't have our first meeting for 3-4 weeks. No rush though. As excited as we are to build and get into our new home, it would be awesome to not have to break our current lease! More news on that process when it happens!

One of my best friends and her husband are also looking at areas to buy or build their first home. I FINALLY talked her into going and looking at our neighborhood and guess what....THEY LOVED IT!! I knew they would and so did they but the distance from jobs is what kept them away so long. I am very excited at the thought of them living so close to us. Time will tell!!

On to my weekly dinner menu...

Monday- Tonight we are having a crock pot meal. It is called slow cooker beef stroganoff. Neither of us really care for mushrooms, so I left those out but I hope it is good. The pictures looks amazing!
Tuesday- We are having tacos. This is such a simple meal and I have yet to make it. I got taco bell shells, taco seasoning, ground beef, salsa, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce. It will be an easy but yummy dinner!

Wednesday- I have a homecoming parade that night so Chris is on his own.

Thursday- I am making another crock pot meal. This one is called Crock pot bow tie pasta. If it taste anything like the picture looks, it should be amazing!
Friday- Sunday we will be in College Station again. I really hope that the Aggies can get a win against Baylor.

What is on your menu this week?

I hope everyone has a great start to their week!!

WILW

I can't believe it is already Wednesday! This week seems like it is flying by. Definitely not complaining but it is crazy how fast time is flying! It has been a few weeks since I linked up with Jamie for What I am Loving Wednesday but here we go...

I am loving that my Erin Condren planner finally came in! I am now (even more than before) obsessed with to-do list, writing down our budget, and keeping track of where I need to be and when.
Sorry for the bad quality of the picture, it is from my cell phone.

I am loving that we are going to be in town this weekend for the second weekend in a row. We normally are out of town during this time of the year for the home Aggie football games. (We do not need to discuss how well or not so well they are playing...)

I am loving that we have submitted all of our paperwork for to be pre-approved for our home loan.
Although it wasn't this much, this is what I feel like we had to get together and turn in to our mortgage guy.

I am loving that we have a meeting with our home builders this weekend to start the contract on our house. We are so excited about this process and really feel that everything is and has fallen into place.

These are a pictures of two homes that are the same elevation that we are getting.

I am loving that my etsy store has been getting a lot of hits and business. I only have 10 sales as of now but am working with a few people for custom orders. Here is my latest order...
It was a big order, 8 shirts total, but super fun to make. Contact me if you are interested in getting a customized shirt made.

As always, I am loving my sweet husband. We have been married for 4 amazing months and again, I cannot believe the time has gone by so quickly.
Sorry this post ended up being so long, I obviously am loving a lot this week. I need to post more so that when I do, my post aren't so long!!!

Meals for this week

I am so happy to have a normal week coming up. We have a lot of exciting events happening this week/weekend.

First up... my Erin Condren calendar is suppose to be delivered this Tuesday! I am so excited for it to come in but I ordered it almost a month ago!!! If you are wanting one, be prepared to wait a LONG time for it to come in. Not complaining, just a fact. I guess it makes the anticipation that much more...

Secondly, we have a meeting with our builders next Saturday to start our contract. I am excited, nervous, anxious and intimidated about this meeting. It will be the start of the biggest financial decision that my husband and I will ever make.

Thirdly, this week my husband is home which means that my meal planning is back on track. I am excited about some of the meals this week. I also do our weekly grocery trip on Sunday and try and lower the amount I spend each week. This week will be hard to beat because I only spent $62. That includes a case of water, a 20 pack of Diet Coke cans, and 3 Capri Sun packs so the total spent on food was very little. We are using a lot of our pantry stock just because we have so much. Here is our weekly menu...

Sunday (tonight)- Jambalaya
Monday- Chicken Quesadillas
I do not have a recipe for this but had left over tortillas and could not think of anything to make using tortillas. A friend of mine suggested quesadillas, duh!! I make them with tortillas, chicken, beans, onions, cheese, and taco sauce. They are super yummy!!

Tuesday- Hamburger Helper
Easy, yes! Some people hate hamburger helper but my husband and I love it!

I have made this before and it was a huge hit. I had bought some crescent rolls because they were on sale and then never used them. They expire at the end of this week so what a perfect meal!!
I have never made this but it looks amazing! I will report back next week.
Friday- Out to eat somewhere. If I get my way, we will go to Pappasitos!

Saturday- Texas Roadhouse
This is one of my favorite restaurants and we will have lunch here after we meet with our builders.

What are you having this week? If you are interested in the 2 recipes that I am using this week, just click on the name of the meal and it will take you directly to the website.
